Nelson Wright

Nelson came of age in rural upstate New York, and his musical life has been spent deep in American roots music. An award-winning songwriter, his guitar work has been compared to Mississippi John Hurt and Dave Van Ronk, and writing to early Bob Dylan and John Prine.

Nelson’s most recent project, Orphans & Relics, was a Roots Music Report Top 100 Folk Album, and it has captured some exceptional press (“…like listening to a plate of T Bone Burnett,” wrote AltCountry).

Nelson is currently Seattle-based. His current drug of choice is caffeine.

Studio Concert

The Winterblue Room, 7754 15th Ave. NE, Lake City

This will be a special kind of event--a studio concert--and I'm thrilled to be joined by two of the city's best acoustic musicians, Wes Weddell on mandolin and Brian Cutler on bass. The three of us had our coming out performance at the Tucson Folk Festival in April.

The Winterblue Room is a special place--a recording studio first of all--that we're taking over for the concert. Space is limited so grab your tickets!
